PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a glass fiber which gives a high mechanical strength of a glass fiber-reinforced resin and hardly reduces a mechanical strength even if exposed to hot water immersion or high-temperature high-humidity environment when used as a reinforcing material for a glass fiber-reinforced resin and the glass fiber-reinforced resin using the glass fiber. SOLUTION: This glass fiber is characterized in that the glass fiber is provided with a coupling agent on a first layer and a water-insoluble film former on and after a second layer in this order from the glass surface.
