X = O, S, or NR; R = H, or 1-6C hydrocarbon radical; R1 = H, 1-40C hydrocarbon radical optionally substituted by hydroxy or -NR'R; R',R = H, 1-6C hydrocarbon radical optionally interrupted by one or more of N or O or Si, -(CH2)m-C(NH2)H-COOH, - C((CH2)s-R2)H-COOH, or a group of formula (II); m = 1-5; s = 0-4; R2 = H, -NH2, OH, SH, -CHOHCH2, -CONH2-, -NH- C(=NH,-NH2), a group of formula (III) , -C6H5, or C6H5pOH; and n = number of repeated units greater than 1 and such that the mol. wt. is 200-200000. An Independent claim is also included for a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition, especially one for cosmetic treatment and/or care of skin, hair and/or damaged or aged nails, comprising the polyaminoacid derivatives. |
