PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lubricant having slight decrease in friction reduction action and reduction in abrasion resistance action even after long-term use and excellent lubricating properties. SOLUTION: This lubricant comprises a molybdenum amine compound obtained by reacting a hexavalent Mo-containing compound with an amine represented by general formula 1 [X<1> to X<4> are each H, a hydrocarbon group or a group represented by -(AO)b H A is a hydrocarbon group or a hydrocarbon group containing an ether-substituted or ester group-substituted side chain; b is an integer of >=1}; R<1> is a 1-12C hydrocarbon group; a is an integer of >=0; with the proviso that one or more of X<1> to X<4> contain -(AO)b H and satisfies one or more conditions of (I) b is an integer of >=2; (II) A is a 5-11C hydrocarbon group or a hydrocarbon group containing an ether group- or an ester group- substituted side chain, (III) A is a >=12C hydrocarbon group and (IV) one or more of X<1> to X<4> is <=9C hydrocarbon group]. This lubricative composition is obtained by adding the lubricant to a lubricative base.
