PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save a space in a multiple disc clutch device. SOLUTION: A plurality of teeth 35 are formed side by side in the circumferential direction in the inner peripheral surface part 31 of a transmission case 21 in a braking device 7. A plurality of first brake plates 24 have engaging teeth 41 and 42 engaged to the plurality of teeth 35 in the inner peripheral surface part 31 and are made relatively non-rotatable retative to the inner peripheral surface part 31 and movable in the shaft direction. A plurality of second brake plates 25 are alternately arranged in the shaft direction for the plurality of first brake plates 24. A piston 22 is a member for pressing the plates 24 and 25 one another. A return spring 28 is arranged within a deep groove 37 among the teeth 35 in the inner peripheral surface part 31 and energizes an utmost piston-side first plate 29 arranged on the side closest to a piston side, to the piston 22 side.
