<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hot rolled steel, by which the occurrence of cracks and surface flaws caused by tramp elements can be prevented without deteriorating the characteristics of a hot rolled steel sheet being a final product as compared with the conventional product and without increasing the production cost and which is useful for the recycling of icon scrap. SOLUTION: A slab containing, by mass, 0.01 to 0.6% Cu and 0.001 to 0.1% Sn is heated, and is thereafter hot-rolled to produce a hot rolled steel. In this case, the slab is heated so that the heating temperature is controlled to 1,050 to 1,300 deg.C, the concentration of water vapor in the heating atmosphere is controlled to 2 to 16%, and the heating temperature T( deg.C) and the concentration H(%) of water vapor also satisfy an inequality (T>=15×H+975).</p> |
