PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant velocity fixed joint having an improved cage assembly. SOLUTION: The constant velocity fixed universal joint provided with an outer joint part, an inner joint part, a ball cage, and a plurality of balls, or with a fixed type constant velocity ratio universal joint, is provided. The ball cage is arranged between the inner joint part and the outer joint part, includes a window, receives respective balls in the window, and restrains them so that the center of ball is positioned within a common face. The widths of at least two opposing windows are made larger than the width of a land part of the outer joint part so as to receive the land part when assembled. The cage includes an inner side surface and an outer side surface of a substantially spherical face, and these surfaces are engaged with land part surfaces of the inner joint part and the outer joint part, respectively. The ball cage includes a relief groove between at least a pair of adjacent windows to reduce the peripheral length of the outer side surface of the ball cage in a groove region. |
