摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging control method of a battery for an electric vehicle capable of preventing performance degradation of a battery module under normal conditions due to deep discharge owing to self-discharge. SOLUTION: When a voltage of a battery module meets a first failure determining conditions in charge mode, whether or not a second failure determining conditions more relaxed than the first condition is satisfied is determined. When the voltage of the battery module meets the second failure determining conditions, it is determined that the battery is in failure and charging is not carried out. When the voltage of the battery module fails to meet the second failure determining conditions, a charging is carried out within a prescribed time under charging conditions in the failure mode intensified more than the normal mode. After the charging in the failure mode, whether or not the measured voltage of the battery module meets the first failure determining conditions is decided and if it satisfies the first failure determining conditions, it is determined to be a failure in the battery and charging is not carried out. On the other hand, when failing to meet the first failure determining conditions, charging is carried out under the charging conditions in the normal mode.
