<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet ray absorbing, colorless, and transparent soda lime silica-base glass which absorbs ultraviolet ray while keeping high light transmittance in visible area, a method for manufacturing the glass, and the glass container in which the content is clearly shown, which prevents the content from coloring, discoloration, fading, degradation of flavors, etc., caused by ultraviolet ray, and is commonly reused as cullets of flint glass. SOLUTION: The ultraviolet ray absorbing, colorless, and transparent soda lime silica glass contains 0.04-0.10 wt.% of vanadium oxide interms of V2 O5 and 0.04-0.13 wt.% of manganese oxide interms of MnO and has 0.6-1.7 weight ratio of V2 O5 /MnO. In the manufacturing method, a batch composition comprising the glass, silica sand, soda ach, limestone, carbon, and mirabilite is melted and added with coloring flits or coloring pellets containing vanadium oxide and coloring flits or coloring pellets containing manganese oxide in a feeder. The glass container is formed of the glass.</p> |
