<p>A device for effecting heating, cooling and freezing by using the function of hydrogen occluding alloys for occluding or releasing hydrogen so as to generate a pump action according to variations in hydrogen pressure, and utilizing the mechanical power thereof to generate electric power or by utilizing exothermic and endothermic actions based on occlusion and release of hydrogen. In order to reduce the stroke time required for hydrogenation reaction and hydrogen release reaction, a hydrogen occluding alloy mixed with rubber material into paste form is applied to the outer surface of a plate cassette or pipe disposed in a sealed vessel, and heat exchange is effected between it and an external heat source.</p> |
