PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power window device detecting pinching, which reduces the frequency of occurrence of the pinching during a blank period of detection by shortening the blank period of the detection before the pinching of the window is detected after start-up of a motor. SOLUTION: The power window device is provided with the motor 4, a motor driving part 5, a pulse generator 5, a micro control unit(MCU) 2 with a built-in memory 10, and an opening/closing switch l. The MCU 2 compares a motor load torque, which is detected during opening/closing of the window, with a reference value stored in the memory 10. When the torque increases far in excess of the reference value, the MCU 2 judges that the pinching occurs, makes the motor 4 stopped or reversed, and does not detect the pinching until transient fluctuations of the torque cease at the start-up of the motor 4. When the motor is started, the MCU 2 compares a torque fluctuation width per unit of time with an allowable fluctuation range stored in the memory 10. The MCU 2 starts the detection of the pinching when the number of continuity, whose fluctuation width falls within the allowable fluctuation range, reaches the allowable number of continuity, which is stored the memory 10. |
