PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize an output of a solid-state laser and, at the same time, to improve the reliability of the laser by increasing the positional accuracy of the axial center of a YAG rod using a simple parts constitution and, in addition, preventing the occurrence of degasification and hydrolysis. SOLUTION: This solid-state laser is constituted in such a way that a hollow cylindrical rod holder 17 in which both end sections of the YAG rod 2 are fit are attached to both end sections of a hollow section having a longitudinal through cavity 1. A sealing means 21 is made to fit in the hollow section of the holder 17 near the fit section of the rod 2, so that the means 21 is put on the outer periphery of the end section of the rod 2. The sealing means 21 has a body 21a, which is put on the outer periphery of the end section of the rod 2, and has a U-shaped cross section, and is made of Teflon (R) and a spring 21b, which are positioned so as to surround the entire periphery of the clamping section of the YAG rod 2.
