That is, the green discharge cells C and the red discharge cells C include different row electrode pairs and, as a result, green discharge cells C and red discharge cells C can be respectively selected independently in the address period. Variation of discharge delay times of write discharge in red discharge cells C is smaller than that in green discharge cells C. Thus, red discharge cells C are selected by using a scanning pulse narrower than a scanning pulse for selecting green discharge cells C in the address period.
