PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide service providing program and method and an information storage medium which enable a user to select a plurality of performance modes corresponding to his/her preference or provision of required sufficient basic service in an area where communication can not be performed. SOLUTION: The presence/absence of dynamic downloading for dynamic downloading information for performing enlargement and realization linked with the given basic service is determined on the basis of the communication state of an information portable terminal in which the program is to be performed and the selection of the user. In the case of dynamic downloading absence, the basic service is provided. In the case of dynamic downloading presence, dynamic downloading is performed for the dynamic downloading information and enlarged service are provided. Also, the selection of services desired by the user is received from the basic service and a plurality of the enlarged services and dynamic downloading is performed for the dynamic downloading information of a pattern corresponding to the desired service selected by the user from the dynamic downloading information of a plurality of the patterns of different information amounts.
