PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester fiber capable of giving a silky-toned fabric with excellent silk gloss, puffy feeling, flexibility and lightweight feeling despite presenting rough peculiar feeling. SOLUTION: This combined polyester filament yarn comprises at least two kinds of polyester fiber differing in boiling water shrinkage from each other, wherein the lower-shrinkage fiber is a modified cross-section fiber that has a single filament cross-sectional shape consisting of a triangular portion (A) and a projected portion (B) extending from one apex of the triangular shape and is 0.7-3.0 in L1/L2 and 3.0-10.0 in h2/h1 (wherein, L1 is the distance between the junction of the triangular portion and the projected portion and the other end of the projected portion; L2 is the distance between the junction of the triangular portion and the projected portion and the side of the triangular portion opposite to the above junction; h1 is the width of the projected portion; and h2 is the length of the side of the triangular portion opposite to the above junction).
