PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module that facilitates manufacturing as well as having high productivity and low price. SOLUTION: A first unit 1 is installed at one end of a tubular hole 10 holding, in the forming direction, a tubular member 7 in which an optical isolator 8 is fixedly inserted, while a second unit 2 is installed at the other end. The first unit 1 is provided with a first lens 3 placed opposite to the tubular member 7 and with a first optical fiber 5 optically connected to the first lens 3, while the second unit 2 is formed by fixing in an aligned manner a second lens 4 placed opposite to the tubular member 7 and a second optical fiber 6 optically connected to the second lens 4. The first and the second optical fiber 5, 6 are optically connected to the first and the second lens 3, 4 through the optical isolator 8. The end on the first lens 3 side of the first unit 1 and the end on the second lens 3 side of the second unit are fixed, together with the tubular member 7, by a formed body 9 provided around the tubular member 7.
