Engine coolant, i.e. hot water, is brought into contact with heat engine (10) components including shape-memory alloy (3). The water is cooled by inducing mechanical movement in the components and rotary parts (1, 2) connected to them. Energy transferred is exploited, especially to drive a pump or an electrical generator. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding equipment and vehicle.
