The casing-in process involves setting out the cover (3) in its fitting shape and using a holding device (13, 14) to transport it upwards synchronously with a book block (2) with the spines facing each other. Shaped rails (e.g. 47a) grip in the fold. The cover is released from the holding device, it is put together with the book block and pressed to the sides of the book block.
