The circuit has a second mains stage permanently connected to a.c. mains. An auxiliary circuit (4) has relays (23,26) for connection to the second mains stage potential simultaneously with a first relay (21) and that switch motor changeover contacts to a load circuit. An accumulator (16) is connected to the second stage plus pole by a diode so current can only flow from accumulator to relay if the second stage operating potential is less than the accumulator voltage.
