A vise lock tool comprises a first and second handle member, both of which are pivotally mounted to the lower jaw member. The upper jaw member has an elongated shank with a continuous plurality of teeth present on the posterior side and is slidingly mounted in a guide slot. Attached to the second handle member is a releasable locking means which locks the upper jaw with respect to the lower jaw and allows a flick of the wrist to open or close the upper jaw due to a spring-operated detent means for engaging the teeth on the elongated shank of the upper jaw member.
