Prototype manufacturing method for design and casting of new casting components prior to mass production, in which differences between numerical models of sample and production castings are determined and applied to sample casting

Prototype manufacturing method in which components that are to be produced by casting are first numerically modeled on a computer. Numerical models for castings produced with a prototype method are compared with numerical models for castings to be produced with a mass production method. Differences in characteristic quantities or dimensions between the models are used to determine a correction value for the essential parameters for the prototype production process. Prototype correction values are determined for the temperature of the mould during casting, the pressure within the mould, the temperature of the melt and the speed of pouring.
