One strut (6,7) of the outrigger (5) is joined directly via connector to one rung (8) of the framework (2), the connector formed from two parallel half shells to make up two mounting openings to grip respectively the rung and the strut. The nontwisting connecting clamp is used to grasp the lower strut (7) and is joined to the rung (8) as against the upper strut (6) connected by clamp to the scaffolding stringer (10). The plates of the connecting clamp are screwed together to close the clamp, or again one plate is holed only for engagement by a nose piece on the rung concerned.
