SYSTEM FOR SENDING ON-LINE GIFT CARD AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING GIFT CARD

PURPOSE: A system for an on-line gift card and a method for providing the gift card are provided to add the function of a credit card or a debit card to the on-line gift card and to make possible the holding and transfer of the on-line gift card. CONSTITUTION: The system includes a front-end server(32), a back-office server(34), and a database(40). The front-end server transmits a disposable password to a client through the SMS(Short Message Service) and applies a password for the use of a gift card after authentication with the disposable password. The back-office server manages transaction histories of each date and each client by using the data received from the front-end server. The SMS messages transmitted from the front-end server are also managed by the back-office server. The database stores the data of the front-end server and the back-office server and inquires the data. The data are stored by being encoded via a database security solution. The front-end server communicates with the client through a card viewer(22) installed in the PC(20) of the client. The gift card holder uses the gift card when purchasing articles from an Internet shopping mall(60).
