PURPOSE: An LCD and a method for fabricating the same are provided to prevent the discoloration of a color filter layer due to the high temperature processing and the etching solution by forming common electrodes at a room temperature and removing the etching process. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes first and second substrates(111,112), black matrixes(115) formed on the first substrate, a color filter layer(116) formed between the black matrixes, organic common electrodes(118) formed on the color filter layer, a plurality of thin film transistors formed on the second substrate, pixel electrodes(128) connected to the thin film transistors and opposing the organic common electrodes, and a liquid crystal layer(113) formed between the first and second substrates.
