PURPOSE: An automatic control unit for a fuel pump is provided to prevent operation of the fuel pump in a no-load state by previously detecting the remaining fuel amount in a fuel tank when a vehicle is driven so as to prevent the damage of the fuel pump. CONSTITUTION: An automatic control unit for a fuel pump comprises a fuel amount detecting sensor installed to a prescribed position in a fuel tank to detect the remaining fuel amount, an amplifying part(11b) amplifying a signal received from the detecting sensor, a time delay circuit part(11c) controlling the operation of the fuel pump by delaying time to stably operate an on/off signal, which is controlled at the amplifying part, without an electric shock, and a power control circuit part(11d) including a current detecting circuit for protecting from overload current applied to a motor of the fuel pump.
