Guide for a mecical device

The guide has a base plate (2) placed on a patients body at a defined puncturing entrance point. A needle guide (3) guides the puncturing needle during insertion and a retainer secures the needle guide in a fixed position relative to the base plate. The base plate slides with the needle guide such that the needle guide is movable around a point that coincides with the defined puncturing entrance point. An Independent claim is also included for a method of positioning a puncturing guide at a puncturing entrance point on a patients skin.
