APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING BUS ERROR IN ATM MATCHING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for processing a bus error in an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) matching apparatus is provided to detect the bus error by an interrupt type, monitor whether the bus error is removed, and reset a corresponding device or an ATM cell processor when the bus error is removed. CONSTITUTION: An inlet FIFO(23) stores a receiving cell and outputs the receiving cell to an ATM bus(26) by the FIFO type. A control unit interface unit(24) checks whether the inlet FIFO(23) is congested by an error of the ATM bus(26) and generates an interrupt request. An interrupt processing unit(28) checks whether the error is removed by the interrupt request, and resets the inlet FIFO(23) when the error is removed.
