A control method for heating appliances (1) with a blower (3) and a blower rotation speed sensor. The combustion air volume measurement is made using an air pressure sensor (2) from which a gas-air combination is made to match air and gas volumes according to the power output required. A controller (5) controls the power output based on the measured air pressure. If the air pressure sensor fails, then control is based on the blower rotation speed.
