Computer animation of racing cars for television transmissions in which a virtual braking path can be displayed graphically in a 3-D animation. Thus a television viewer can see clearly when a driver applies his brakes, which line he follows, when he stops braking etc. For difficult track points, e.g. curves the path and braking of different drivers can be compared. A racing car is depicted with real camera images and virtual braking paths or tracks are superimposed on the images.
