PURPOSE: A digital exchange system having a digital time switch is provided to be easily controlled by independently and separately using the time switch of common resources. CONSTITUTION: A digital time switch(20) has a main time switch for supporting a basic system, a child time switch for supporting an increment system, and a common resource time switch. In case that a line card of the basic system requests a time switch, the time switch is bypassed in a main CPU board of the basic system and connects to the common resource time switch of the main CPU board by the main time switch. In case that a line card of the increment system requests a time switch, the time switch is bypassed in a slave CPU board of the increment system and is transmitted to the child time switch of the main CPU board, and connects to the common resource time switch of the main CPU board.
