PURPOSE: A communication system between a main shelf and an expanding shelf in an FLC-D(Fiber Loop Carrier for densely populated areas-D) system is provided to have the adaptability of a system by composing one processor board in the main shelf and the expanding shelf, respectively for maintaining units of the corresponding shelf, performing a communication with external devices through a unit mounted on the main shelf, and connecting the expanding shelf to the outside through the main shelf. CONSTITUTION: The first and second OCUs(Optical Control Units)(204,214) are mounted on a main shelf(200) and an expanding shelf(202), respectively. The first OCU(204) controls and monitors units mounted on the main shelf(200), performs an IPC(Inter Processor Communication) with a network management system, and performs a serial communication for an operator interface. The first OCU(204) communicates with an other system through a DCC(Data Communication Channel) of an STM-1(Synchronous Transport Module-1), and performs a serial communication with the second OCU(214). The second OCU(214) controls and monitors units mounted on the expanding shelf(202) and performs the serial communication with the first OCU(204). |
