PURPOSE: A device for recognizing a fingerprint is provided to prevent a use of a fingerprint by stealth and obtain a high-quality fingerprint image by optimizing a visibility of a fingerprint image, making an internal angle of a fingerprint input surface, a fingerprint reflection surface, and a fingerprint output surface of a prism as a fixed angle, and limiting an incident angle of a light source to a vertical line of the fingerprint input surface and an angle of the fingerprint output surface to a camera module. CONSTITUTION: A triangular prism(200) is formed by a fingerprint input surface(201), a fingerprint reflection surface(202) including an opposite corner of the fingerprint input surface(201), and a fingerprint output surface(203). A light source is arranged at one side surface out of two side surfaces of the prism(200) for emitting a light into the prism(200). A detector senses a fingerprint image by reflecting the fingerprint image being inputted on the fingerprint input surface(201) to the fingerprint reflection surface(202). An electronic circuit(402) processes the fingerprint image detected in the detector. The fingerprint reflection surface(202) is coated by a total reflection material for totally reflecting the fingerprint image inputted in the fingerprint input surface(201). The angle of the fingerprint input surface(201) to the fingerprint reflection surface(202) is 70-80 degree. The angle of the fingerprint input surface(201) to the fingerprint output surface(203) is 60-70 degree. The light angle of the light source of the fingerprint input surface(201) to the vertical line is 35-60 degree.
