Water management system, uses osmosis to generate flow of fresh water through dam body and into sea

A dam body (1) such as a dyke is used to separate the sea (2) on one side from a body of fresh surface water (3) such as a river delta or polder on the other side, the level of fresh water at least sometimes being equal to or lower than that of the sea water. Fresh water is (dis)continously into the sea with the aid of injection devices in the dam body, which contain a semi-permeable membrane (5) so that fresh water passes into the sea water as the result of osmosis.
