The sliding door is associated with an energy accumulator (9) which is formed as a spring-loaded stopper for the door panel (2). The energy accumulator is supported by the door panel and stops at the wall opening (1) and assists the movement of the door panel from the closed position when relaxed. The door panel is held closed by an unlockable snap connection supported by same. The snap connection is spring-loaded in the locking direction and is coupled to a handle lever (14) on the door through a traction member.
