PURPOSE: A power amplifying system and method for a mobile communication system is provided to shorten a switching time using a DPDT(Double Pole Double Through) switch when generating fault. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of PAUs(Power Amplifier Units)(211,213,215,217,219,221) amplify inputted signals at a set amplification rate. DPDT switches(210,220,230) connect to a plurality of sector transmission terminals at their one sides, and connect to corresponding PAUs among a plurality of PAUs(211,213,215,217,219,221) at the other sides. A switch control unit(240) controls the switching operation of a corresponding DPDT switch of a PAU in which fault is generated when the fault is generated in the specific PAU among the PAUs(211,213,215,217,219,221), and provides the signal outputted from the sector transmission terminal to the other PAUs except for the PAU in which the fault is generated among the PAUs(211,213,215,217,219,221).
