PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a method for driving the same are provided to improve contrast by minimizing the amount of unnecessary light during a reset period. CONSTITUTION: A couple of sustain electrode(32,34) are formed on an upper substrate(30). A couple of auxiliary electrodes(36,38) are formed at both sides of the sustain electrode couple(32,34). A dielectric layer(40) is formed on an upper portion of the sustain electrode couple(32,34) and the auxiliary electrode couple(36,38). The sustain electrode couples(32,34) are formed with transparent electrodes(32A,34A) and bus electrodes(32B,34B). The transparent electrodes(32A,34A) are formed by transparent electrode material. The bus electrodes(32B,34B) are formed by a metallic material. The sustain electrode couples(32,34) are formed with the scan/sustain electrode(32) and the sustain electrode(34). |
