PURPOSE: Data electrodes and driving method of a PDP panel are provided to minimize damage due to an ion, and achieve an accurate writing operation. CONSTITUTION: A discharging cell comprises a pair of sustain electrodes as a scan electrode(43) and a sustain electrode(45), formed on an upper substrate(40), and a data electrode(56) formed on a lower substrate(54). The scan electrode includes a transparent electrode and a bus electrode. An upper dielectric layer(50) and a protection layer(52) are layered subsequently on the scan electrode and the sustain electrode. A lower dielectric layer(58) is formed on the lower substrate for charging the wall charge. A barrier rib(60) is formed on the lower dielectric layer(58), and a phosphor(62) is deposited on the surface of the lower dielectric layer and the barrier rib. The data electrode is arranged at right angle to the scan electrode and the sustain electrode and has a protrusion portion which has a wider electrode width at the intersection region with the scan electrode than an electrode width at the other region. |
