METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING COLOR PAPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture color paper of target tone values without appearance of color drifts and variable densities. SOLUTION: A curtain coater head 9 which flows down a chromatic coating material 2 like a curtain 2a is installed to a position above raw paper 6 hung around rolls 5 and made to travel in a horizontal direction. Drying equipment 10 is arranged on the downstream side of the position where the coating materials flow down. A tone detector 12 for detecting the tones of the coating materials 2 of the raw paper 6 after drying is arranged. The apparatus has a tone controller 11 consisting of control valves 13 and 15 and flowmeters 14 and 16 disposed in respective supply lines 3 and 4 of the main coating material 2A and correction coating material 2B varying in the various densities and a tone controller 17 for computing the replenishing amount values of the main coating material 2A or the correction coating material 2B in accordance with the detected tone values and sending an opening/closing command to the control valve 13 or 15.
