PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for folding an air bag capable of reliably developing the air bag toward a space between a passenger and an instrument panel. SOLUTION: During development of the air bag 4, a small capacity overlapping part 12 is developed before a bellows-form part 4c being a main part and collided with a front window panel 1. Since operation by which the main part developed in delay is pushed toward the passenger M side is effected, the air bag 4 is developed toward a space between the passenger M and an instrument panel 2.
