PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder and a recording method in which positional shift of recording can be corrected easily at the time of high speed skip control and acceleration recording control. SOLUTION: A recorder equipped with high speed skip control where recording operation of a recording wire is executed at a constant operational timing in the constant speed region of a carriage after the carriage is moved at high speed by a pulse motor in the column direction by an amount corresponding to a specified number of pulses, and acceleration recording control where recording operation of the recording wire is executed at an operational timing according to a preset pulse timing table in the acceleration region of the carriage and then recording operation of the recording wire is executed at a constant operational timing after the carriage has moved to the constant speed region comprises means for operating the time delay k between the operational timing in the constant speed region of the acceleration recording control and the operational timing in the constant speed region of the high speed skip control, and a timing correcting means which adds the time delay k thus operated to the operational timing in the constant speed region of the high speed skip control.
