One end of a cord (11) is to be fastened to a stationary object (18) for example to produce an item of games equipment such as a rope bridge or climbing net. The end of the cord has a crimped-on sleeve (10) with a peripheral groove allowing it to be immobilised axially, but with the possibility of rotating about its own axis in a socket (1) itself mounted so that it can pivot on a journal (8) fastened to the fixed piece (18) by a screw (13).
