PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combined unit for processing continuous-form papers which can detect a broken pin in a printing part automatically and highly accurately and enables early replacement of the breaking pin. SOLUTION: Continuous-form papers of a specific kind which are already unnecessary such as transaction payment slips transferred by wire, etc., are stored as a printing medium for test to a test printing medium-storing part 9. The printing medium is issued from the test printing medium-storing part 9, and a predetermined test pattern is printed by a printing part 4. Then, an image of the test pattern printed to the printing medium is read by a printed test pattern read part 11 and is compared with reference test pattern information, whereby the presence/absence of a printing blank caused by the broken pin is detected. The result is informed to a maintenance man. |
