PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To thaw icing by determining the presence or absence of icing only with a wiper device. SOLUTION: This device consists of a wiper blade which wipes a glass surface, a wiper driving motor 20 which reciprocates a wiper, a wiper deicer 13 which thaws icing on the wiper blade, an auto stop plate 21 and a wiper auto stop contact monitor circuit 15 which detect the icing state of the wiper blade, a CPU 16 which thaws icing on the wiper blade using the wiper deicer 13 in the case that the wiper blade is judged as being iced based on an operation monitoring signal from the wiper auto stop contact monitor circuit 15. A defroster may be used instead of the wiper deicer 13.
