PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated polyester film which is excellent in heat- resistance and processing suitability, and provides an excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics when being made into a metal film type magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: This laminated polyester film comprises a polyester layer A and a polyester layer B. In this case, the polyester layer A contains 0.1 to 2.5 wt.% of a diethylene glycol component. The polyester layer B is laminated on one surface of the layer A, and contains 1 to 50 ppm of germanium atoms. Also, the polyester layer B contains 0.001 to 1 wt.% of an inert particle B. In this case, the average particulate diameter of the inert particle B is larger than that of an inert particle A in the layer A, and the average particulate diameter is 50 to 1,000 nm.
