1291303 Sintering grates ARTHUR G McKEE & CO 17 March 1970 [26 March 1969] 12866/70 Heading F4B Frame members 22, 25, 26, 28 and 28a of the pallets of a travelling grate pelletizer subject to widely fluctuating temperatures are protected by metal shields spaced from said frame members and attached thereto at a minimum of points to reduce heat conduction. Each pallet frame comprises two identical cast sections 20 and grate bar supporting members 25, 26 are covered by inverted U-shaped shields 41, 50, members 26 having lips 27 engaging the hooks of the bars. Outer frame members 22 are covered by inverted L-shaped shields 32, 35 and cross members 28 are enclosed by box shaped shields 57. The adjoining innermost cross members 28a have inverted U-shaped shields 59 covering both together. The shields are attached by nuts and bolts extending therethrough and through the protected members. The bolts may have ring washers to space the shields and said members or strip spacers may be used on upper surfaces. In modifications (Figs. 10 and 11) double shields may be used and the inner one may be corrugated. |
