PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat reversible recording medium, a card, a disk cartridge, disk, a tape cassette and a label capable of obtaining a sufficient image erasability and a high contrast even by changing an environmental temperature by broadening a temperature width for transparentizing and obtaining a sufficient emulsification even by preserving in the presence of a basic substance, and a method for processing an image to form and erase the image using the same. SOLUTION: The heat reversible recording medium comprises a heat-sensitive layer containing a resin matrix and an organic low-molecular weight substance dispersed in the resin matrix as main components and reversibly changing a transparency depending upon a temperature. In this medium, as the organic low-molecular weight substance, at least one type of a linear hydrocarbon- containing compound (A) having no carboxyl group selected from the group consisting of formulae (1) to (6) and at least one type of a linear hydrocarbon- containing compound (B) having no carboxyl group having a melting point lower by 20 deg.C than that of the compound (A) are mixed, and used. |
