PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser thermal transfer ink sheet having no color muddiness with a high sensitivity, excellent color reproducibility and high productivity. SOLUTION: The laser thermal transfer ink sheet comprises at least a photothermal conversion layer, an intermediate layer and an ink layer sequentially provided in this order on a support. The sheet can form a transfer image by a laser exposure. In this sheet, the intermediate layer has a diffusion preventiveness of a photothermal conversion dye contained in the conversion layer.
