PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid fuel cell of a new type for generating a current with high efficiency by using a negative hydrogen ion generating material as a fuel source for changing its negative hydrogen ions into proton at a time and releasing two electrons each from a single hydrogen atom. SOLUTION: The fuel cell comprises a hydrogen pole as a negative electrode, an oxygen pole as a positive electrode and an electrolyte filled therebetween, one pole being isolated from the other pole with a permeable membrane. A fluoridized hydrogen storage alloy or its hydride is used for the hydrogen pole, and a water solution containing the negative hydrogen ion generating material is used as the electrolyte and the fuel supply source. |
