PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a destaticizer constituted in which a discharge tip electrode can be satisfactorily protected and also which can be easily cleaned. SOLUTION: In the destaticizer 15 which is arranged on the downstream side from a transfer device 10 so as to destaticize a transfer material to which a toner image formed on an image carrier is transferred and so as to separate the transfer material from the image carrier, the destaticizer 15 is provided with a destaticizing member 17 equipped with several discharge tip electrodes 16-arranged in the width direction of the transfer material, and an insulating member 19 for supporting the discharge tip electrodes 16-, and also provided with projections 18-which are arranged between adjacent discharge tip electrodes 16 and 16 and which project toward the surface side from the electrode thickness.
