PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a plasma display panel that can shorten time for the exhaust of impurity gas without complicating the structure and control of a sealing device. SOLUTION: In the preparation of a back substrate 12, glass frit (sealing frit) 13 made of low-softening-point amorphous glass is applied, for sealing, to a peripheral portion of a screen of a glass substrate. In the application of the glass frit 13, first, glass frit 13a is continuously applied in a given pattern, and then, glass frit 13b is applied thereon in a broken line. The glass frit 13 thus has a difference in height between the portion where the glass frit 13a and 13b is formed and the portion where only the glass frit 13a is applied. The glass frit 13a and 13b is, specifically, applied to the peripheral portion of the screen of the back substrate so as to form a step. |
