PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve throughput in terms of A4 size paper. SOLUTION: This image forming device is equipped with a returning path 40 switching back paper carried toward a paper ejection part 11 by a carrying path 30 for carrying the paper on either surface of which an image is formed by an image forming part 20 to the ejection part 11 and returning the paper to the image forming part so that the image may be formed on the other surface of the paper, and the loop length of a loop-shaped path R formed by the carrying path and the returning path is set to be longer than (the length of A4 size paper in the width direction) × 2 + paper interval × 2 and shorter than (the length of A4 size paper in the width direction) × 2 + paper interval × 3. The image forming part is equipped with at least an intermediate transfer body 25 having peripheral length such as the length of A4 size paper in the width direction × 2, and the loop length of the loop-shaped path formed by the carrying path and the returning path is set to be longer than the peripheral length of the intermediate transfer body and shorter than the peripheral length of the intermediate transfer body + paper interval. |
